The Art of Letting Go

"The heaviest burdens that we carry are the thoughts in our head"

A human brain never stops thinking, there is a non-stop movement of choices, decisions, desires and many more. Though it seems impossible, but we can have two(or more) feelings at the same time. They contradict each other and fight for space in our brain(and heart). We often think of them like, "one of these feeling must be false. One is right and one is wrong". But as you know you can hold only one thing firmly at a time, and by the continuous dilemma of choices it tends to frustration and ange
it's pretty annoying, or maybe a part of our life.
But, by holding on, we create walls around ourselves and force ourselves into a box that we aren't meant to be in. We close ourselves off to all other amazing possibilities that await us.
So in order to start living your life in the present moment and to be free from all the past memories and not waiting for the future, we have to learn the art of letting go.
It means living your life consciously, aware that each moment you breath is a gift. The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness.
This thing can be interestingly explained by a short story :
Once upon a time two buddhist monks were on a journey, one of them was a senior monk and the other was a junior monk. And during their journey they approached a raging river and on the river bank stood a young lady. She was concerned about how she would get to the other side of the river without drowning. The junior monk walked past her without a thought and crossed the river, The senior monk, however picked up the women and carried her across the river. He placed her down, they parted the ways and on they went with their journey. As the journey went on, the senior monk could see some concern on the junior monk's mind. He asked him what was wrong. The junior monk replied, "How could you carry her like that? You know we can't touch women, it's against our way of life". The senior monk answered, "I left the women at the rivers edge a long way back, why are you still carrying her?".
So at the end it's all about your mindset.
